Ukraine Strikes Russia’s Largest Oil Refinery in Siberia

In one of its longest-range operations of the war, Ukraine launched a successful drone strike on Russia’s largest oil refinery located deep in Siberia. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed a massive fire broke out at the Omsk Refinery, a crucial facility nearly 2,700 kilometers away that processes around 460,000 barrels of oil daily. Acknowledging the unprecedented assault, Regional Governor Vitaliy Hotsenko stated that several drones had reached the “northern industrial zone of Omsk,” where emergency teams are currently assessing the damage. This ambitious Siberian strike coincided with overnight attacks on major Russian oil export ports in the Baltic Sea, escalating an ongoing Ukrainian campaign that is triggering significant fuel shortages across Russia.
