The death toll from the devastating magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 has climbed to at least 3,685, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information. Officials report that 16,740 people were injured and nearly 18,000 have been left homeless by the consecutive tremors. Extensive search and rescue operations remain active, heavily supported by thousands of international personnel, Venezuelan officials, and local volunteers. So far, emergency crews have successfully rescued 6,462 individuals from the rubble, despite facing more than 1,000 recorded aftershocks.
