NATO Announces More Than $50B in New Procurements in Ankara

NATO heads of state have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to collective defense during a high-stakes summit in Ankara, declaring that “an attack on one is an attack on all.” To counter long-term security threats from Russia, the alliance announced over $50 billion in new defense procurements alongside a €70 billion military support package for Ukraine in 2026. The joint declaration outlines major tech investments, including artificial intelligence models and a shared transatlantic combat cloud. Additionally, NATO leaders took a firm stance on global security risks, warning that Iran must never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
