Khamenei’s Body Arrives in Mashhad for Final Burial

Following extensive funeral processions in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala, the body of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been returned to Iran. Iranian state media confirmed the arrival, reporting that “the plane carrying the leader’s body landed at Hasheminejad Airport in Mashhad with family members on board.” A major funeral ceremony is scheduled to begin in the city at 2 PM local time. After these final tributes conclude, Khamenei will be laid to rest at the holy Imam Reza Shrine.
