The US military has launched a fresh wave of strikes against Iran to disrupt its ability to target commercial vessels in the critical Strait of Hormuz. Ordered by President Donald Trump, the military action follows his direct warning that Iran would be “struck hard tonight and tomorrow.” US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the operations are designed to systematically degrade Tehran’s maritime targeting capabilities. In a statement, CENTCOM warned that these strikes “will continue to exact a heavy price” to protect both innocent civilians and international shipping lanes.
