A devastating fire at an orphanage in a rural area of Algiers has claimed the lives of 11 people and left 19 others injured. According to the Civil Protection Agency, emergency responders successfully evacuated five disabled individuals to safety, while ten victims are currently being treated for varying degrees of burns. Firefighting operations are still ongoing as crews work to completely secure the facility. Authorities have not yet released the identities or ages of the deceased, and the cause of the tragic blaze remains under investigation.
