A severe snowstorm in Argentina’s Andes Mountains left more than 100 tourists stranded on a high-altitude road in Mendoza province. Emergency crews battled low visibility and deeply buried vehicles, using heavy machinery to clear the treacherous route to the 4,555-meter-high Balcon del Pissis viewpoint. Following hours of complex rescue operations, all stranded individuals were successfully evacuated with no fatalities. Two people were hospitalized for hypothermia, and local authorities have strongly warned the public against mountain travel until weather conditions stabilize.
