Russia launched attacks with ballistic missiles and drones on seven targets in the Kyiv region, which includes the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. Fires broke out in warehouses and facilities following the attack. A statement from the Kyiv military administration confirmed that at least 14 people were killed and 27 were injured. The air raid alert in the capital lasted more than an hour.
In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was stated that the attacks were carried out against logistics centers and supply points in and around Kyiv on the grounds that they were being used for “military purposes.” The statement noted, “These centers were involved not only in the storage and delivery of various weapons and military equipment but also in the production and distribution of unmanned aerial vehicles.” It was also reported that three cargo ships “carrying weapons and military equipment” near the port of Odessa on the Black Sea were struck.
