Nepal Flash Floods Kill 8

At least eight people have died and entire villages are submerged after the Bhotekoshi River overflowed, triggering massive flash floods in Nepal’s Bagmati province. Thirteen police officers remain missing in the Rasuwa region, while a separate landslide on the nearby Tibet border has left additional people unaccounted for and severed local infrastructure. Rescue helicopters are currently unable to reach isolated towns due to high water levels, with one eyewitness recalling that the sudden disaster sounded “like a volcano erupting.” Mobilizing the army and police for the recovery effort, Prime Minister Balendra Shah assured the public that “necessary work has begun in coordination with health teams, scouts, and the Red Cross.”
