Türkiye’s ROKETSAN Successfully Tests Next-Gen Cruise Missile

Turkish defense manufacturer ROKETSAN has successfully completed live-fire testing of its domestically produced, next-generation ÇAKIR cruise missile. Launched from a land vehicle during two recent tests, the advanced weapon “hit both land and sea targets with pinpoint accuracy” using a new infrared seeker head and an extended-range fuel system. The highly versatile missile, which is also compatible with drone platforms, operates effectively in all weather conditions while boasting low radar visibility and strong resistance to enemy countermeasures. Emphasizing the weapon’s tactical flexibility, the company stated that “with these firings, ÇAKIR has once again proven its capability to be integrated into different platforms.”
