Iranian Missile Strikes Near Jordan Coast

Escalating its retaliation for recent US airstrikes in southern Iran, a ballistic missile launched by Tehran struck near the Red Sea coastal city of Aqaba, Jordan. The sudden attack activated regional air defense systems and forced residents to seek shelter, while explosions echoed as far as the neighboring Israeli city of Eilat. Framing the growing conflict, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it has begun delivering “regretful responses” to American military actions in the Middle East. As part of this ongoing offensive, the IRGC also claimed to have shot down a US military MQ-9 drone, allegedly marking the 50th American aircraft intercepted by its forces.
