A food crisis continue in the Gaza Strip, which remains under Israeli attacks and a blockade. As an insufficient amount of flour enters the territory, long lines continue to be seen outside bakeries throughout the Gaza Strip. With current supplies only enough to keep bakeries operational for a single day, Gazans are forced to wait in line for hours to bring bread home to their families.
The Gaza Bakers’ Association has announced that flour stocks in warehouses have been completely exhausted, and only 7 out of 20 bakeries remain operational. The association warned that unless the crisis is resolved and new shipments of flour are permitted to enter, these remaining 7 bakeries could also shut down within a few days.
