The Mae Ramhueng Beach in Thailand declared disaster area after an oil spill

On January 25, an oil spill had been occurred in the underwater pipeline of Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited (SPRC) in Thailand. After the oil spill reached the shore last weekend, the Mae Ramhueng Beach in Rayong province of Thailand was declared a disaster area. The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) said they are working with the SPRC to contain the oil spill. According to the RTN, 150 SPRC employees and 200 navy personnel participated in the containing efforts. Meanwhile, 12 ships of the navy, 3 civilian ships and planes were intervened the leak. Also, barriers were installed in the water to prevent the oil spill from spreading.
