According to the statement released by the Turkey’s Edirne city Governorship, it’s been pointed out that an almost frozen immigrant was rescued, and the dead bodies of 9 immigrants pushed back to death by Greece have been found in İpsala district located at Edirne. “The dead bodies of 9 immigrants, who pushed back by the Greeks and froze to death on February 2, 2022, were found in the Paşaköy village located at İpsala district. An immigrant at risk of frostbite was rescued and transferred to the Keşan State Hospital. Our search and rescue efforts in the region continue for immigrants who may need medical assistance. A judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the issue. Regretfully announced to the public,” Edirne Governorship said in the statement.
