The Friday prayer has performed with a high participation in Jerusalem. According to the Department of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem, 50.000 Muslim worshipers performed the Friday prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque located in the Old City of Jerusalem, despite the strict measures imposed by the Israeli police. The Department stated that citizens from Israeli occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank came to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attended the Friday prayer. Also it’s been pointed out that the Israeli police imposed strict security measures at the doors of the Al-Aqsa, and they searched the worshippers and checked their identity cards.
