A total of 415 hectares of land have been burned in 39 forest fires across Mexico in the last 24 hours, National Forestry Commission of Mexico (CONAFOR) reported. The biggest damage in forest fires in 15 states of the country, including the capital city of Mexico City, occurred in the northern regions. While 1,508 firefighters are on duty to fight the flames across the country, helicopters belonging to the Mexican Army and local governments also support the extinguishing efforts.
It is estimated that forest fires that have affected Mexico in recent days have increased due to dry and hot weather conditions.
