On April 16, the 29th edition of the International Holy Qur’an Exhibition began in Iranian capital city Tehran. The exhibition, which started at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla Mosque in Tehran, will continue until the end of Ramadan. Also, the exhibition attracted great interest from Iranians. At the exhibition, the works of the Qur’an from the art of illumination, calligraphy special to the verses of the Qur’an, the ornaments in which the verses of the Qur’an were engraved on wood and the paintings of the verses of the Qur’an were exhibited. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Deputy Minister of Islamic Guidance and Culture Ali Rıza Muaf also attended the opening of the exhibition that started with the slogan of “Qur’an, the Book of Hope and Peace”. Giving the opening speech at the fair, Qalibaf told that the Qur’an is a book that gives hope and peace, and that Ramadan is a month that has a social aspect besides individual worship and upbringing.
