A fire broke out at the Central Research Institute of the Aerospace Defense Forces affiliated to the Russian Ministry of Defense at 11:08 am local time in Tver, Russia. Firefighters and search and rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia (EMERCOM) and many ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the dead bodies of 2 people were removed from the building, and 30 people were rescued with injuries. The ministry also stated that some people were injured by jumping from the windows after the fire started and that all people in the building have now been evacuated. Meanwhile, part of the building completely collapsed after the fire. One of the Tver area officials of EMERCOM stated that the power lines in the building were very old and it was most likely the fire could have started because of this.

Countries in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group have committed over €21 billion in new military aid, British Defense Secretary John Healey announced after a meeting in Brussels co-chaired by Germany and the UK. The UK pledged a record £4.5 billion for 2024, including drones and anti-tank mines. Germany pledged €11 billion through 2029, with plans to deliver air defense systems, tanks, and ammunition. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov thanked allies and stressed the importance of continued support against Russia’s increasing drone attacks.
