Massive fire at Russian oil facilities on Ukrainian border

A fire broke out at the oil facilities in Bryansk, Russia. A large number of search-rescue and firefighting teams were sent to the region for a medium-risk fire. After a long fire extinguishing efforts, it was announced that the flames were brought under control in the morning hours. Based on local sources, the Russian media reported that the fire started in an oil tanker and then spread to a wide area. The claims that “the attack was carried out by Ukraine”, especially on social media, regarding the cause of the fire were not confirmed by both Russia and Ukraine. In a written statement, the Russian Investigation Committee stated that an investigation has been launched to investigate the cause of the fire and the results of the investigation will be shared with the public. Due to the fire, there was no situation that required the evacuation of civilians in the region.
