The London Municipality and the Open Iftar organization has organized an iftar meal in Trafalgar Square in London, UK. Many London Muslims broke their fast at the ground tables set in the area. Turkish imam Muhittin Aydın recited the Azan at the open iftar event held for the first time in Trafalgar Square. Hundreds of Londoners who broke their fast with the dates distributed at the end of the Azan, performed their evening prayers in a specially reserved area in Trafalgar Square. The first Muslim Mayor of London, Sadıq Khan said in his statement that he was very happy to have an iftar program in one of the world’s most famous square.
