Air pollution in Tehran, the capital of Iran, once again rose to the level of alarm. Due to the air pollution rising to 201 micrograms/cubic meter levels in the capital Tehran, kindergartens, primary schools and private schools where the disabled receive education were suspended. Tehran Deputy Mayor Abid Meleki said in a statement, “Due to the unhealthy weather conditions and the critical level of air pollution, an emergency committee was formed. Today, kindergartens, primary schools and special schools for the disabled were closed.” Secondary and high school students are prohibited from going out to the school gardens, Meleki added.
