The 9 May Victory Day turned into a show of strength this year due to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. The ceremonies, which started in the morning with a military parade in Moscow’s Red Square and the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin, continued with concerts held at the Christ the Savior Cathedral and Poklonnaya Gora Square in the capital Moscow in the evening.
At 22:00 local time, fireworks were held in the capital Moscow as well as St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Siberia and the Far East regions.
