House in US drifts into sea by waves

Coastal erosion has occurred on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore in the US state of North Carolina due to rising sea levels and tides. An empty house collapsed due to erosion. Footage showed the house on the coast was drifted into the sea by the severe waves.

“Unfortunately, there may be more houses collapsing on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore in the near future,” Eastern North Carolina National Parks Superintendent David Hallac said in a statement, warning visitors to stay away from beaches in this area. Sea level off the coast of the state of North Carolina has risen about 7.62 centimeters since the early 1980s, according to NASA.

Last February, another house collapsed on the beach in Rodanthe, North Carolina.
