At least 20 houses have been destroyed in wildfires in the US state of southern California, authorities said. About 100 houses were evacuated as the fire may affect more houses, said Orange County Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy at a night news conference.
Fennessy stated that there is a historical drought in California as a result of climate change, and that bushes, which are normally resistant to fire, burned faster than ever due to the drought. No other major fires in the state’s south, and that firefighters continued to fight fires in the area, Fennessy said.
