“Turkish Cuisine” event was held within the framework of “Turkish Cuisine Week” at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris. At the event, 15 traditional Turkish dishes were presented to the taste of the participants. The book “Turkish Cuisine with Centennial Recipes”, which was prepared under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s wife Emine Erdoğan with the contributions of famous chefs and academics, was also introduced.
Gülnur Aybet, Permanent Representative of Turkey to UNESCO, gave information about the history and regional diversity of Turkish cuisine in her speech. Aybet drew attention to the healthy aspect of Turkish cuisine and stated that Turkish food comes from a tradition that avoids waste.
