Gunmen attacked St Francis Xavier church during Sunday mass in Owo town in southwestern Nigeria’s Ondo state, killing dozens of worshippers, authorities said. A large number of first aid and police teams were sent to the region, the injured were taken to the hospital.
Regional Governor Arakunrin Akedolu described the attack as despicable and stated that security forces had been assigned to punish the criminals.
