A landslide occurred in the Chavin de Huantar region of Peru yesterday evening. While authorities reported that 150 houses in the area were buried as a result of the landslide, they have yet to issue an official statement regarding the casualties.
Noting that President Pedro Castillo will go to the region in the coming days, Defense Minister Jose Luis Gavidia said, “As a result of the landslide, approximately 150 houses were buried under the ground. Here are reports that an elderly man died in the incident, but we have yet to confirm this.”
