Forest fires sparked by the heat wave in Spain continue at various locations. The firefighters were seen struggling due to the strong wind. So far, over 30,000 hectares have burned in Galicia alone. Several houses were severely damaged. Castile, Valdepenas de la Sierra, Castilla–La Mancha, Monsagro in Salamanca, and Caceres in Extremadura also experienced major fires. The fires in Zaragoza spread along the highway.
A total of 1,477 people died in the country due to rising temperatures between July 10 and July 19, according to reports.
