The Sakurajima Volcano in Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture has erupted on 24 July. 51 people were evacuated from the area around the volcano. The Japan Meteorological Agency raised the volcano’s alert level from 3 to 5 following the eruption.

In 2015, level 5 alert level was issued for the first time for Kuchinoerabujima Volcano on Kuchinoerabu Island in Kagoshima province.

Ukraine Says It Hit Crimean Bridge with Underwater Explosives

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced it carried out an underwater attack on the Crimean Bridge at 04:44 local time, severely damaging its supports with 1,100 kg of explosives.

SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk said, “This is the third time we’ve hit the Crimean Bridge. It’s a legitimate target used for Russian military logistics. Crimea is Ukraine.”

The 19-kilometer bridge is strategically vital for Russia, linking it to Crimea, which it annexed in 2014.
