A fire broke out at a facility in the Mitras industrial zone in Garcia, Mexico, in the state of Nuevo Leon, where petroleum products are stored. A firefighter was slightly injured, and 280 people at the facility and nearby were evacuated for safety reasons. Fire officials stated that they had difficulty in controlling the fire as the material stored at the facility mostly consisted of gasoline, diesel and mineral oil.
The fire was brought under control after 6 hours of extinguishing efforts, where 90% of the building was damaged, authorities said.
