French sailor rescued after surviving 16 hours on capsized sailboat

A 62-year-old Frenchman was rescued near the Sisargas Islands off the coast of Spain. The man sent emergency signal ahead of being found by the coast guard on a 12-meter capsized sailboat. The rescue teams arrived on the scene by helicopters and a ship, where they carried a rescue operation. The French man was rescued the day after being found as the initial rescue attempt was failed due to rough waves and lack of daylight. Two divers rescued the French sailor in early morning, who managed to survive 16 hours alone on the bottom surface of the capsized boat. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
