A Stranded Beluga Whale in River Seine Puts to Sleep

A beluga whale was first located in the River Seine, far away from its own habitat, on August 2 and was decided to transport to a salt-water pool to be treated. During the six hours transportation period with the help of nearly 80 people, the beluga whale suffered airway complications and needed moving to safe zone on August 6. “The suffering was obvious for the animal, so it was important to release its tension, and so we had to proceed to euthanize it.” said the French animal expert.

The rescuers tried to fed the beluga whale with various fishes and lead it to an exit of the area. However, the rescuers’ attempt failed since the beluga refused to eat.
