Muqtada Sadr called for the dissolution of Iraqi parliament and holding early elections on Wednesday. He urged his followers to continue the sit-in until their demands are fully met. Sadr supporters also announced that they will continue their protests in the capital Baghdad.
Ibrahim Al-Jaberi, Head of the Baghdad Office of Shiite religious leader Muqtada Sadr, stated that the protests will continue, saying, “Sadr supporters have been here for more than a week and are determined to bring about a change that will serve the entire Iraqi people, regardless of sect or ethnicity.”
