Heavy rains and storm killed 3 in Mexico

Heavy rains and storm emerging in Mexico have killed 3 in separate incidents.

A 12 years old child taking shelter in a workplace with his mother to avoid hail died after a tree fell onto the building. The mother, on the other hand, is heavily wounded. Authorities reported that more than 10 similar incidents of trees falling occurred in Puebla, where the incident took place.

In another incident in Oaxaca state, a family of 3 caught in flood waters in their car. The mother,38, and her daughter,10, lost their lives while trying to drive away from the floods. The father is reported to have survived by escaping the car.

Flood waters also drowned 225 houses and 655 citizens in Morelos state and 60 houses flooded after a river overflowed in Guasave, Sinaloa. Authorities stated that the harsh weather conditions will continue.

IAEA Warns of Serious Damage at Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Site

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director Rafael Grossi warned of “serious” damage to Iran’s Fordow uranium enrichment facility after recent US airstrikes, citing the sensitivity of centrifuges to shock and vibration.

In an emergency board meeting, Grossi said multiple structures tied to uranium processing at Isfahan and Natanz were also hit. He stressed that no full assessment of underground damage is yet possible.

Grossi condemned attacks on nuclear facilities as a global risk, urging restraint and a return to diplomacy. “We must resume negotiations to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” he said, expressing readiness to visit Iran.

He also confirmed Iran’s notification of new protective measures for nuclear materials, emphasizing they must comply with international safeguards.
