Massive hailstones as large as a tennis ball hailed over Catalonia self-governing territory in Spain. A 1-year-old girl died in a hospital after getting hit on the head. Twenty nine wounded casualties were taken to a hospital. The hailstorm also damaged many vehicles. According to Catalan meteorology experts, it was the most destructive amongst the hails emerged in the last 20 years.
The deadliest hailstorm emerged in India in 1888, killing nearly 250 people with orange-sized ice blocks.
