A protest staged in Mexico City to commemorate the 43 students who were killed in a bus 8 years ago in Mexico left 39 injured. The protest, taking place in front of a military post in Mexico City, ended with 21 police officers, 13 soldiers and 5 national guards getting wounded by the rocks and fireworks that the protestors threw.
Witnesses stated that the protest started with the relatives of the students who died in 2014 protesting in an unhostile manner as the Mexican government requested to. However, the disturbance broke out as an unidentified group, hiding their faces, showed up and attacked the security forces.
The case of the incident that took place in 2014 still continues. While the killers have not been detected yet, the suspects include some local government officials, police and army members as well as organized crime groups.
