Death toll from floods caused by monsoon rains in Pakistan increased to 1,663, Pakistan National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) announced. According to local sources, about 3.6 million people lost their jobs in the country, where about 54 percent of the families affected by the floods stayed in open areas, tents or shelters.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterated his call for help to the global community, stating that Pakistan cannot fight the devastation caused by the flood disaster alone.
