2022 Nobel Prize in physics awarded to 3 nominates

Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics. The winners were announced at a press conference held at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm, Sweden. The President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Hans Ellegren, and the Nobel Physics Committee members, Eva Olsson and Thors Hans Hansson, presented the three winners with their work on quantum technology.

“Quantum information science is a vibrant and rapidly developing field. It has broad and potential implications in areas such as secure information transfer, quantum computing and sensing technology. Its origin can be traced to that of quantum mechanics. Its predictions have opened doors to another world, and it has also shaken the very foundations of how we interpret measurements.” said Eva Olsson.

The 10 million Swedish krona prize will be handed to the Nobel Prize winners within the event that will be held on December 10th.
