Many settlements and farming areas were flooded by Thailand’s overflowing rivers which was triggered by the most severe monsoon season that has been seen in the last 20 years. Heavy rains, which affected all over the country during the weekend, caused floods in big cities, while many villages, highways and factories were flooded as a result of the overflow of rivers in the countryside. On the other hand, the sewage system of the city was blocked as the Chao Phraya River, which runs through the capital Bangkok, also overflowed in certain areas.
More than 10 thousand citizens were evacuated, and it was stated by the Thailand Meteorological Department that the rains will continue the upcoming days.
