An armed attack on a daycare center in Thailand’s Nong Bua Lamphu province killed 34 people, including 22 children, and injured dozens more. After fleeing the scene, the attacker killed his wife, child, and himself in his own home, according to a Thai government spokesperson.
It is believed that the attacker, 34-year-old Panya Kamrab, a former police officer, was fired from his job due to his drug use, became depressed, and carried out the attack in retaliation.
