Floodwaters in Australia could exceed 12 meters

As the flood disaster, that was caused by heavy rains, continues in Australia, Victoria State Emergency Service warned that the height of the flood waters could exceed 12 meters, which could cause more than 7,000 buildings to be submerged.

Victorian Governor Daniel Andrews reported that 355 roads were closed due to flooding and that about 6,000 homes and businesses around the town of Mooroopna are deprived of electricity.

After making observations in the state of Victoria state, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that the effects of the flood disaster reached devastating levels. “By the end of today over 100 ADF [Australian Defence Force] personnel will be on the ground in Victoria,” Albanese said.
