The Global Coalition Against IS has begun in Rome. 83 country ministers and representatives participated in the meeting which is chaired by Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The global coalition, established in September 2014, and aims to combat the financing and economic infrastructure of DAESH.
US President Donald Trump announced plans to suspend all payments to Colombia and impose new tariffs, accusing the South American nation of complicity in the illegal drug trade. “They are not fighting drugs; they are producing drugs,” Trump told reporters. He said financial aid would be cut immediately, with tariff details to be revealed later in the day.
Commenting on Israel’s recent strikes on Gaza, Trump said he was unaware of the attacks and noted that “the ceasefire is still in effect.”
