A helicopter crashed about 72 kilometers off Morgan City in the state of Louisiana, on the Gulf of Mexico coast of the USA. The US Coast Guard announced that rescuers were dispatched to the scene. As part of the rescue operation carried out in the helicopter, which was turned upside down in the water, 2 of the 3 crew members were taken to the hospital, and the dead body of the other person was recovered.

An investigation is underway into the incident.
