Derin Elik, a 7-year-old girl from Artvin, is the youngest member of the Turkish Aeronautical Association’s Artvin Branch. Derin, who previously competed in off-road races with her father, recently experienced the excitement of paragliding. Muhammed Ali Buçan and Bayram Yücel, who are working to determine paragliding routes in Artvin, traveled to Rize’s Ardaşen district following their trials there.
Derin Çelik and paraglider Bayram Yücel took off from 450 meters on Afyon Baba Hill, descended to sea level by advancing a bird flight distance of 2,200 meters. Derin’s happiness could be seen in her eyes. Derin’s attempt was also recorded as the Turkish Aeronautical Association’s youngest athlete, taking off with a parachute.
