Russia’s attacks on Ukraine continue. One newborn baby died and his mother and doctor were injured as a result of Russia’s attack on a hospital in Vilnyansk, Ukraine, the President Volodymyr Zelensky announced.
According to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, the baby’s mother and the doctor were rescued from the building with minor injuries.
Countries in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group have committed over €21 billion in new military aid, British Defense Secretary John Healey announced after a meeting in Brussels co-chaired by Germany and the UK. The UK pledged a record £4.5 billion for 2024, including drones and anti-tank mines. Germany pledged €11 billion through 2029, with plans to deliver air defense systems, tanks, and ammunition. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov thanked allies and stressed the importance of continued support against Russia’s increasing drone attacks.
