Greeks claim ownership of home-made UAV by Turkish enthusiast

Greeks copied a Turkish home-made UAV and introduced it online. Alper Sarısam, a Turkish enthusiast, started modeling the Colomban Cri-Cri aircraft on the terrace of his home. He wanted to test-fly the aircraft but could not obtain the necessary permits from the authorities. In order to meet the requirements, he turned the aircraft into a UAV. Sarısam then arranged a runway for the UAV through various sponsorships and had the opportunity to fly the aircraft. After the successful flight, Greeks copied it and introduced it as “Talos” the country’s indigenous UAV, where they introduced the vehicle that went viral on social media.

The UAV was exhibited at TeknoFest 2021, Turkey’s leading aviation and tech festival. “We see the aircraft, which I named ALPKUŞ, as the first UAV in Greece. I spent 5 years to develop the vehicle,” Sarısam said.
