Police have arrested a woman at a train station in Thailand’s Chana region over smuggling dead animals from her car. A total of 68 animals were among the seized bodies and parts, including 54 squirrels, seven monitor lizards, one pangolin, two civet cats, and two dwarf deer. The animals were sent to a lab for further investigation.
The 44-year-old woman claimed that the animal parts were brought by train from Sukhirin, on the Malaysian border, and that she was only a dealer.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
