After a meeting with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu in the Polish capital, Warsaw, Polish Defense Minister Blaszczak announced a new agreement on purchasing 2 observation satellites from France for 575 million euros. The satellites that can provide clear images up to 30 centimeters from the target will increase the Polish army’s ability to obtain reconnaissance data.
“It is a good opportunity to strengthen Poland’s ability to identify threats early” said Blaszczak, emphasizing that they will benefit not only for military purposes, but also for detecting natural disasters faster.
“This great deal reflects Poland’s confidence in our technology and industry,” said Lecornu.
Having been using Italian satellites since 2014, Poland is planning to launch its new satellites into space by 2027.
