The annual festival Shakrain, also known as Ghuri Utsob or kite festival, was held in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, on Saturday. Taking place in every ninth month of the Bengali calendar (Jan. 14 or Jan. 15 in the Gregorian calendar), the festival carries importance in the old Dhaka culture for symbolizing unity and friendship.
