Gunfire was directed into a crowd during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, where 1,000 people had gathered on Monday to watch a parade, and festivities in Fort Pierce, Florida, USA. According to the law enforcement authorities, in the incident that took place at 5:20 a.m. local time, 8 people were injured, with one person in a serious condition.
The investigation is ongoing and currently no one has been charged in connection with the mass shooting.
